sharing a Hawaiian chant

sharing a Hawaiian chant

Lomi is such a sweet adventure that is still telling it's story in my life.

This work has a life force all it's own that is so completely connected to source that one can experience so much potential, growth, inspiration, and brightness that they may have never even known was there to begin with.

That is my experience. I felt somethings could shift or change or morph in my life and they would be just the appropriate happening, to shift my path a little bit more towards mental, emotional, and spiritual thriving as opposed to the surviving I had become accustomed to being in.

Lomilomi was such a great catalyst for change in my late twenties. The realization, clarity, and healing it brought to my life was just what I had been seeking. I do not know where I would be without this practice.

The richness of talk story, of chant, of the herbal medicines, the blessed hands on work, and the Love experienced through the Aloha spirit is so deeply nurturing to my soul. I am a receiver of this work in it's many forms, an accomplished student and practitioner, and occasionally a support teacher in my Lomi community.

I have to say that just today I found myself meditating in one of the practices I learned through Lomilomi. I use many of the prayers and chants to anchor myself in a safe and restful internal space when I feel life is out of control. And it works. The chants and prayers are affirmative and call me right back to the here and now instead of hanging out in the swampy places that bog my life down.

I love this work and the peace and healing it has brought to my life.

Note from Barbara Helynn Heard
Thank you so much Donna for submitting the first lomilomi story on my website. You've started "talk story".

I have loved sharing Mana Lomi chants with you. How wonderful to hear how they continue to reverberate through your being and to support you in being who you truly are.

With much aloha,
Barbara Helynn
